Hello there! I'm Johnny! Your new best friend and favorite photographer. I am also a coffee nerd, a humongous foodie, and dad joke extraordinaire. I've been photographing weddings for about 7 years now and every love story still feels fresh and revitalizing to document. It's more than just capturing the big moments, but the nuances of the small ones too. It's the culmination of both that makes documenting the magic between, not just two people, but two families so special. Prior to photographing weddings, I spent some time serving as an Army Medic and after completing my service obligation I spent a few seasons working as a military medical instructor as a Government Contractor. I love my job as a storyteller!
A photo of my grandma and I when I was a kid. It's currently displayed in my office and it reminds me so much of her sweet soul, and dedication to how much she sacrificed so that my parents and I could live a youth she didn't get to live. Her photo is a constant reminder to honor her in everything I do and I miss her every day. She reminds me how important photos are of not just the significant moments, but the in-between moments as well with family members.
Peter Parker. He has always been the underdog but despite the uncontrollable nature of life, he always finds a way to persevere and overcome the challenges of some pretty terrible circumstances. I don't necessarily see myself as the hero, but just the guy that never wants to give up despite the hardships of life.
I enjoy living in the present, but if I HAD to choose a historical period, I would live in the 40's. It's the golden generation where uncommon valor was a common virtue. I think back on the people that lived in that era and all that comes to mind is the tremendously beautiful hearts and souls the majority of people of that generation had in the midst of a world war.
I'm not sure it's a secret anymore since Google has existed, but I love Shark Fin Cove in Santa Cruz or the black sand beaches of Sausalito. Both geographically beautiful places!
Technically my worse memory turned into my best memory but here's the story; I witnessed the father of the bride go into cardiac arrest during open dancing, I rendered aid by performing CPR and activating EMS, and found out weeks later he survived the encounter. So that was swell!
It would be a toss up between the Norway Fjords or the Swiss Alps. They're both so different from each other, but what is there to not enjoy about beautiful bodies of water or massive rock formations?
I'll admit, putting on spandex to go on a bike ride feels super lame at first, until you understand that comfort is king, and going fast is really fun.
Is there such a things as too much coffee? Probably, but unless my body starts telling me otherwise, I'll be chugging cold brew all day along with 5 shots of espresso and cappuccinos in between all of that. I love exploring new coffee shops for the experience, vibes and drinks.
I LOVE my kiddos. They're certainly a handful, but what's life without having the ensure the lives of two small humans stay healthy and out of harm's way? I love being a dad!
Give me rocks to climb or a mountain to hike. I love the outdoors! I don't really miss rucking, but hiking is a lot more leisurely and rock climbing is a very cerebral sport.
There's nothing more enjoyable than lifting heavy things and putting them down and seeing the slow progress of being able to lift even heavier things in the future. haha!
When I do get time, I really enjoy gaming. Some of my current favorites are Destiny and Chrono Trigger. I love Sci-Fi plots that involve time travel and parallel universes.
