Mindy

Raised in Michigan, Mindy is a midwestern girl at heart. Fueled by sunshine and flowers, she lives in San Jose and travels all over the Bay Area shooting beautiful stories of families and couples each weekend. When she isn't shooting, you'll find her gardening, running, or outdoors with her daughters and their pup named Ocho. She loves to go swimming, bike riding, and wildflower picking.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS?

I love to be near water. Summer is my favorite season and you can find me happiest beside my daughters cruising on a boat with the wind and sunshine on our faces. Floating in the pool with a book in hand is a close second.

WHAT FICTIONAL CHARACTER DO YOU MOST IDENTIFY WITH?

Hmmm...I like Belle. She’s independent, kind-hearted, and loves to read.

WHERE ARE YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL HANGOUTS/SECRET SPOTS?

On Sundays, I like to hang out at the farmer’s market in downtown Campbell. I love stocking up on fresh fruit and I always stop to get a hand-tied bouquet of flowers. I'm currently on a quest to discover the world's best chocolate chip cookies. So far, Gunthers, a small breakfast shop, is my top pick for cookies in the Bay Area. When you go, you can only order them by the dozen or half dozen. This isn’t a problem for me. Icing on the Cake in Los Gatos has the best cakes and cupcakes around. You must try their banana cake with buttercream frosting!

WHERE DO YOU FEEL MOST INSPIRED?

On an airplane. Some of my best ideas and moments of clarity have arrived while seated high in the sky above the cloudline.

I love having all of my books in one place when I travel. I also like to keep my kindle tucked in my purse in case I’m stuck in a waiting room or a grocery line!

Fresh flowers

I love making flower arrangements, the process relaxes me and brings me joy! I like to fill assorted vases with bright blooms and place them near the sink, in the entryway, and on my nightstand.
