Marielle

Hi there! My name is Marielle and I have been a wedding photographer for 15 years. Being able to document hundreds of weddings has been one of the biggest honors of my life. I am an outgoing girl who loves to go with the flow of life. I love dancing in the kitchen with my family after dinnertime, traveling, art museums, vintage clothing and getting to know people. Happiness is a high value in my life. I love to be able to document all the joy and happiness from weddings.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST PRIZED POSSESSION?

My wedding ring! My husband picked it out for me without me giving any input and it is my favorite thing I own. It fits my personality and is so perfect for me. When we were newly married our house caught fire and I wasn't wearing my ring. As I was running around the house to get out, the only thing I made sure to grab was my ring! Luckily our house was safe and I decided that after that I would never take my ring off!

IN WHAT HISTORICAL PERIOD WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO HAVE LIVED?

I would have loved to be a teenager in the 1970's! The fashion of the 70's is so fun, the colors and the patterns were amazing and the music is fabulous!

WHERE ARE YOUR FAVORITE East Bay HANGOUTS?

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WEDDING MEMORY?

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS?

I love to load my family up in the car and head to hole in the wall restaurants in Berkeley and Oakland. Anything from Mediterranean to Vietnamese to deep dish pizza and beyond. Also I won't lie, Taco Bell is one of my favorite not-so-secret spot!

I had a bride whose father surprised her and had two Alpacas show up to their wedding. Every guest had their picture taken with the animals and I can honestly say I have never laughed that hard. The guests were all SO excited and SO genuinely happy to be with these cute fuzzball Alpacas!

My idea of perfect happiness isn't in the big moments or the things that have been planned. It's in the small, candid moments when I look around at my family and think, "woah, I have been so blessed." It's the moments when I feel the sun on my face or when I witness an amazing sunset or when I see someone do a kind act for another person. I am constantly looking for the happiness and joy in this life!

Go-tos

My kids

I am the mother to three really wonderful and amazing kids. Being a parent is the best job I could ask for. They bring so much joy and laughter into my life!

SCUBA DIVING

I am SCUBA certified and my husband and I have gone diving in the Philippines, Tahiti, Mexico, The Bahamas and locally in Monterey. Growing up I was terrified of the ocean because of sharks (who am I kidding, I still am terrified of sharks!!). As long as I can hold my husband's hand with a death grip while we go diving, I am able to conquer my fear which I am really proud of!

PIANO

I play the piano every single day. I've played piano since I was 8 years old and it quite literally is my favorite way to decompress and add music into our home.

CANDY

You will never meet anyone who is more obsessed with candy than I am. I love every kind of candy (my favorite candy typically is the seasonal candy!) There is always candy in my house and we even have a vending machine of candy in our living room.

COKE ZERO

One thing I honestly couldn't live without is Coke Zero. I cannot go a day without at least a couple of them!

THE GOLDEN GIRLS

My absolute favorite show in the world is The Golden Girls. The clothes! The hair! The drama! The cheesecake! I watch The Golden Girls while I edit photos and it just makes me happy.
