Sunrise Session at the Griffith Observatory

Jiajia and Kevin’s sunrise engagement session at Griffith Observatory felt like the perfect snapshot of their life in LA. The city was still quiet, the light was soft and glowy, and the whole morning had this calm energy that made it so easy for them to just be themselves.

“We’re both transplants to LA and we really wanted an iconic spot to represent our new home here,” Jiajia said. “We live in Hollywood, under the shadows of the observatory, and thought it was such an iconic representation of our life together.”

They showed up just before the sun peeked over the hills, and we wandered around the observatory while the city slowly started to wake up. “Sunrise was a dream. The city was still asleep and we watched the sun spread over LA,” she said. It really was dreamy. The way they laughed, moved, and leaned into every moment made the whole session feel light and fun.

The two of them shared plenty of laughs while we wandered the overlook and trails in the morning light. They mentioned being camera shy, but you’d never know it with the fun we were having 😉 They leaned into each moment and brought so much personality to the shoot. It felt light, natural, and completely them.
