Sunset Hikes, Foggy Views, and That Just-Engaged Glow: Annie + Sam at Mt. Tam

There’s just something about Mt. Tam that feels like you’re walking through a dream. Maybe it’s the way the fog rolls in like a slow dance, or how the light turns everything gold right before the sun dips into the clouds. Either way, it was the perfect place to meet up with Annie and Sam for their engagement session. The vibes? Immaculate.

Annie and Sam’s shoot was a full-on love letter to that idea. They’re sweet and playful, down-to-earth in the best way, and totally up for a little hilltop adventuring.

How did it all begin?

Their story is already the kind you want to root for. High school and college friends who lost touch and found their way back to each other in 2020.

The proposal (of course) was also on a hike, because these two are clearly at their best when they’re outside and slightly sweaty. After a silent start (thanks, hangover), the views and ocean air worked their magic. A “shortcut” turned into a thistle-covered scramble and then, at the top of a favorite picnic spot, Sam got down on one knee. Now we’re celebrating 🙂

Mt. Tam Magic: Fog, Sunshine, and Barefoot Laughs

Mt. Tam did what Mt. Tam does, which is basically show off. We started above the clouds, wandering open trails that felt like the top of the world. There were misty hillsides, golden light peeking through, and views that went on forever. Annie wore the cutest floral dress (hello, romantic cottagecore moment) and Sam kept things low-key in a soft cream sweatshirt. Nothing fancy, just them.

The light kept shifting, the fog rolled in and out, and they laughed their way through it all. At one point, Sam picked her up and spun her around like they were the only two people on the planet. And honestly? That’s kind of what it felt like.
