If I had to describe Joey and Cierra’s wedding in one word, it would be whimsical. They took over Mohi Ranch last fall and turned it into the ultimate celebration of their “goofy” energy. Being able to document their day felt less like “working” and more like being invited into their inner circle.
Cierra told me early on that they were “passionate but silly,” and lol, did they deliver. The morning started with so much sweetness… lots of hugs with her mom and that gorgeous, whimsical gown that looked like it was made for a fall day in the ranch’s olive groves. But this is when it got fun! The “first look” that wasn’t exactly a first look:
They wanted to save that big reveal for the aisle, but Cierra had a plan. She blindfolded Joey so she could do a reveal with her entire (and very large!) entourage right in front of him. It was such a genius move. Watching her bridesmaids and the groomsmen cheer while Joey just stood there, grinning under a blindfold. So unique, and slightly silly – totally memorable 🙂
Mohi Ranch was doing its thing, soft golden light filtering through the trees, that dreamy ceremony setup tucked into the vineyard… it all felt so peaceful and intimate even with such a big group. Walking through the olive trees with their entire crew felt like something out of a movie, but still totally relaxed and grounded in family.
That’s the beauty of a Mohi Ranch wedding. It has this way of feeling both grand and incredibly intimate. For Joey and Cierra, the day wasn’t about a stiff schedule or perfect poses; it was about the laughs, the “goofy” energy, and those quiet, fleeting glances. Honestly, it was just a beautiful, whimsical day when we want to freeze time… and we do… with natural, emotional images!
If every wedding had this kind of energy, I’d never go home. Big group, big laughs, zero stiffness… just people fully showing up as themselves. It felt like a celebration first and a wedding second, which honestly is kind of the dream.
