Vibrant and Joy-Filled SSS Napa Celebration

Steph and Matt’s SSS Ranch wedding last August was exactly what they promised it would be: a crazy fun weekend, full of movement, color, culture, and a dance floor that did not quit.

We know SSS Ranch well. It’s one of those venues that rewards a documentary approach, wide oak trees, golden fields, open-air ceremony spaces that feel grounded and real. As Napa wedding photographers, this is where storytelling thrives. You let the setting breathe and the people do the moving.

Steph told us from the beginning, “We just want it to be a crazy fun weekend! we’ll have a hybrid Persian/Western ceremony with a big emphasis on dancefloor action at the end of the night.”

And then there was the wedding party. Big. Enthusiastic. Fully committed.

Steph was clear about what she wanted captured. “the pictures we hang on our wall are always the ones filled with joy & movement, not super posed ‘1-2-3-smile’ ones.”

We leaned into that. We directed them into movement. Walking, laughing, pulling each other in, adjusting jackets, spontaneous cheers. That lightly-candid, free-form energy she described became the visual language of the day.

Their ceremony included a beautiful sofreh, woven seamlessly into a Western format. The textures, symbolism, and layered details added so much depth to the moment. From a Persian wedding photography perspective, the sofreh becomes both visual anchor and emotional centerpiece. It grounds the ceremony in heritage while the couple brings their own energy to it.
