Karen

Hi, I'm Karen! I've been a professional photographer for over a decade now, and prefer capturing candid, loving moments as they occur, but will also guide you and your sweetheart to create magical and romantic images. I'm the calm in the frenzy that is the wedding day--Between my degrees in Communication and Sociology from UCSB and my years of experience as a wedding photographer, I'm here to put you two (and your families!) at ease, while also making sure we laugh and have FUN!

WHAT IS YOUR MOST PRIZED POSSESSION?

One of my most prized possessions is a Peruvian ceramic dish depicting the Inca calendar, and it hangs in my living room. I got it while on a trip to Peru and Ecuador with my grandmother, a trip which solidified my love of travel.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WEDDING MEMORY SO FAR?

My favorite wedding memory thus far has to be a wedding I photographed in New Zealand. Talk about a destination wedding! The views and variety of landscapes was absolutely stunning, and a dream come-true!

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS?

My idea of perfect happiness is waking up to an ocean-view with my partner, sipping coffee on the balcony with a warm breeze. Book in-hand, with nothing in particular on the agenda. Delicious fresh local food to follow, whenever we feel like getting our day going, no rush here.

WHAT IF I TOLD YOU THAT YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE RIGHT NOW?

If I could travel anywhere right now, I would probably head for the Galapagos Islands--Third time's a charm! It is one of the most unique and diverse places I have visited and has so much to see, do, and offer. I was first introduced to it on the above trip with my grandmother. I loved it so much I went back for a second time to spend two months there volunteering!

Go-tos

COFFEE!

Coffee is genuinely the highlight of my morning. I take my time waking up, and the routine of eating my cereal, followed by slowly sipping on my coffee. grounds me (no pun-intended!).

WATER

What can I say, I'm known to carry a water bottle everywhere I go. Sometimes, even to restaurants, haha!

FITNESS

Whether hitting the gym (at home, now-a-days) or going for an evening stroll, movement is life (learned that maxim in New Zealand!). Every day can be made better by getting in some activity!

Family & FriendS

While I'm an ambivert, I thrive on spending quality time with quality people. Leave the small-talk at home, let's get deep!

HUGS

I LOVE hugs! They melt the stress away, and I've been told a time or two (or a million) I'm a great hugger. But don't worry, I won't go in for a hug un-announced if it's not your thing!

INTIMATE POTLUCKS

I love small gatherings where you get the chance to talk to every single person in-depth and meet new people, and what's better than everyone bringing a favorite dish with them. How fun to be able to try different things!
